Andrea Ortega Villalobos
I am a qualified lawyer in Spain since 2016. I have been working for almost five years (2015-2019) in one of Spain’s top tier law firms, Cuatrecasas, as associate attorney and innovation project manager, combining my passion for law, technology and innovation. Regarding my legal specialization, I have specialized in Intellectual Property, Data Protection and New Technologies (mainly Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence) and also have prior experience in corporate, litigation and tax. In addition, my position has allowed me to promote and be part of the startup and open innovation ecosystem in Spain and to learn from other ecosystems in the world such as Portugal, Switzerland or South Korea, being invited as a speaker in several events and conferences at an international level. In 2016, I launched along with the firm’s CIO an acceleration program for startups, Cuatrecasas Acelera, and the investment vehicle, Cuatrecasas Ventures.
I previously studied for 6 years a Doble Bachelor of Laws and Business Management at Deusto University (Bilbao, Spain) and a Double Masters in Legal Practice and International Business Law at ESADE University (Barcelona, Spain) and the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (London).
